Punch Art Ruldolf…

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Rudolph 'Punch Art' reindeerThis was one of the ‘Christmas Card Class/Club’ designs last night.  And my apologies for the link issues in yesterday’s email.  I have moved the ‘Class in the Mail’ option to it’s own registration page HERE.  But you can still sign up for October’s hands-on class HERE.

UPDATE: To see all of the past Christmas Card Classes available ‘In the Mail’, click here.

I actually almost thought that this design was too silly to include, but I’m happy to report, it was a hit.

UPDATE: I shamelessly CASE’d got this idea for a reindeer when I saw Jackie Topa’s.  She is a superior stamper!

I jokingly refer to this as the $200 card, because if you don’t own any punches, well, that’s the tab for all your punches (and I’m happy to take your order, LOL!)

PUNCHES:  1 3/4 inch jumbo circle, 1/2 inch circle, Wide Oval, Large Oval, Small Oval, Word Window, Curly Label.  The ‘antlers’ are actually the Sizzix Sizzlits die ‘Swirls Scribbles’ (#113411), but if you don’t have that, you can also use parts of the Sizzix Decorative Strip die ‘Swirly’ or parts of the Bigz Die ‘Tulipe.’  I like the ‘Swirls Scribbles’ one the best.

I used Whisper White, Creamy Caramel, Real Red, Basic Black and Chocolate Chip cardstock and the greeting was stamped in StazOn Black, featuring the new Holiday Mini Catalog set ‘Four the Holidays’ (#116921) an excellent four holiday greetings set.

The ‘book’ is actually the curly label punch folded in half and the top & bottom cut off on a diagonal (see fig. 3).   Okay, who needs all the punches?  Step right up… no waiting!

Tonight’s class event is full, but you can register to receive the  ‘Class in the Mail’ featuring step-by-step instructions for all 5 cards with your $30 online purchase (and by the way, my ‘In the Mail’ registration page is moved to HERE).

To earn this, you must first REGISTER HERE (choose ‘September Online Option’), you will receive the directions after your online purchase comes through.

Remember if your order reaches $50, you ALSO earn my regular monthly ‘Online Buying Gift’

You can still purchase the (August Christmas Class/Club (view it here) and you can ‘pre-register’ for October & November’s class or the ‘Online Option’ here.

I will be featuring some of these in upcoming blog posts.

And I should mention that the unique 3×6 card featuring ‘A Season of Simple Grace’ was shamelessly CASE’d from a Janet Wakeland swap I got last year.

Autumn Splendor Redux

Autumn Splendor Stamp SetYikes, posting two days in a row!  Can you stand it?

I actually have some truly beautiful fall samples to share and they are easy to boot!

This card is with exactly the same set and designer paper as yesterday’s card but with different designs from it and a vertical layout.

Again, I used the Autumn Splendor stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog, the  Autumn Meadows designer series paper (#116769, $9.95).

Autumn Splendor DetailThe leaves were stamped in Basic Brown and sponged with Really Rust, More Mustard & Not Quite Navy and then cut out and tacked on again.

The greeting was stamped in brown on vanilla, punched out with the oval scallop punch (#114889, $15.95) and layered with chocolate chip cardstock punched from our new Wide Oval punch (#112082, $15.95)… a punch combination I am getting very fond of!  And of course I used the Eyelet Border punch (#113692, $15.95) to create a ‘chair rail’ effect as well.

So, how’d I do?

Sweet Centers Halloween Treat

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Sweet Center Stamp Set - Halloween treatsI just *had* to have this set when it became available and then I must admit that I fell down on the job by not actually using it!  This is part of my neverending disappointment at being born into working class… and not having the good sense to at least marry into it <big sigh>, ;-) .

So, I finally got the excuse to play with it for my Stamp a Stack last night where we made this simple ‘post card’ style treat!

I also used the House of Haunts ( #111574) stamped in black and added some spooky sponging with More Mustard and Old Olive inks and sponge daubers.

The ‘tag’ punch makes the perfect headstone… don’t you think?

The Sweet Centers set is an ‘all reason’ set that also  has some cool accessories such as the  clear treat holder cups (#116802, $3.95 for 12) and padded envelopes (#116911, $3.95 for 3) to aid in protecting the cup when mailing.

Sweet Treats Stamp SetThe ‘heart’ stamp has some very awesome Valentine’s day potential and of course the ‘ornament’ top stamp and the hot air balloon stamp look like they would be VERY fun to be creative with!

Enjoy & create!

Gifts of the Earth Thanksgiving Card

Grateful Greetings with Gifts of the Season Holiday Mini Set by Stampin' Up!Having fun with my new Holiday Mini Catalog sets, and here I am again with Gifts of the Earth!

The turkey is part of the ‘Gifts of the Earth’ Thanksgiving set and was one of my last month’s Stamp a Stack of Stuff class…

I used the Autumn Traditions Designer Series paper (#115668, $9.95) and Really Rust cardstock.  I used the Sizzix Originals die ‘Leaves #2′ (order #113459, $15.95) to cut out the designer series paper leaves.

Grateful Greetings & Gifts of the Season Thanksgiving Card detailsWell, got to get back to stamping!  I have another stamp a stack tomorrow night and I’m not done!

There will be more beautiful Thanksgiving cards to come!
