Father’s Day Dress Shirt Card

Man's Shirt CardI love this truly quick card.

And in anticipation of 1000 requests… I have included a PDF with the recipe and the dimentions and template.  Just quickly though, I used the Manchester Designer Series paper, Twill Tape ribbon, and you can’t tell by the photo, but the collar is Always Artichoke which is the same as the darkest stripe in the shirt.

Man's Shirt Step-by-Step PDF

This is my gift to my wonderful followers for being patient with me for being an inconsistent blogger lately.

I am very excited to be a presenter at Josee Smuck’s Stamping Girls Convention in Ottowa, Canada starting tomorow.  I’m a bit nervous as well and am hoping to impress!

Man's Shirt top view

As you can see by the detail shot (below) the top of the card is cut so that the collar doesn’t go above the standard sized card/envelope.

The knot for the tie is a trick… check out the PDF download for more information!  I have some fabulous Father’s Day & Masculine card ideas coming… when I get home from Canada!

Upsy Daisy

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

upsydaisyI’m having a senior moment as to whether I have posted this sample already. So, forgive me if this is a duplicate.

I have some wonderful new samples coming that I am working on for my May Stamp-A-Stack of stuff tomorrow.  It will feature some terrific masculine cards for that special guy in your life–or even your husband!

upsydetail

The Upsy Daisy stamp was inked in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.  The color combination was from the  Urban Garden Designer Series paper… Kiwi Kiss & Night of Navy– not one I would have come up with myself.  To make the flower ‘pop’, I sponged some Kiwi Kiss ink around the daisy heads.

On June 1st the discontinuing stamp sets from this year’s catalog will be published, be sure to check back at that time.  It is pretty much a given that 90% of the designer series papers will also discontinue, so if you like the Urban Garden (#112042) designer paper, now might be the time to order it!

Crazy for Cupcakes Birthday Card

cupcakemoneyholder

This is a money/gift card holder that I’ve done in the past but with an adorable ‘old fashioned soda shoppe’ type exterior!

I have seen the Candy Lane Designer Series Paper (#113980, $9.95) used as a window overhang like this and decided that it would be the perfect cover for a birthday money gift.

I had a lot of feedback about my post the other day (See: Rose Accordion Bookmark Card) and the dimensions for it.  I have updated that post to include more details, click here to view it again.

Rose Accordion Fold Bookmark Card

Rose Bookmark Card Closed

Clearly I have a thing for this set ‘A Rose is a Rose’ (#111560, set of 14 stamps – $37.95).

UPDATED:  Since it was not a class, I don’t have a detailed handout, however in response to many requests, this was made with a 12 x 12 piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock, scored at 3 inch intervals.  I free cut the tops of each panel to appear to be bookmark.  I used a 12″ strip of the Candy Lane DSP inside and tacked it down, leaving space to use it as pockets.  I cut the inside bookmarks from scraps of vanilla and decorated the entire thing with stamped/cut images of the Rose is a Rose set.

This bookmark card was my ‘backup’ Mother’s Day card that I didn’t need to use.  At my April Stamp a Stack, my friends made a wider ’2-fold’ accordion fold bookmark card for the sake of saving time.

But nothing beats the four fold!  Accessories:  Riding Hood Red & Vanilla cardstock, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss & Baja Breeze inks, Candy Lane Designer Series Paper and some grosgrain and tafetta ribbon.

I didn’t realize until after I photographed how much more striking this would be with ribbons at the top of each bookmark section… oh well… next time!

So, am I getting better at video?  I’ve created an ‘AmyTV‘ page (which will pull all my videos together in one place).  Enjoy!

Eastern Influences Thank You Card

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

Eastern Influences What an easy ‘thank you’ card!   I need to share more of my samples of things that I have done with the Eastern Influences stamp set!

The card is vanilla with Sahara Sand inset and the Designer Series paper ‘Bella Bleu’ pattern I chose is also Vanilla with the Sahara Sand pattern.  The birds are cut out and popped up.

The flower is touched up with Pretty in Pink marker and the deeper color is Cameo Coral. I ‘edged’ the flower and leaves with the Sahara Sand marker (look for it in the ‘Neutrals” colors  on Pg. 153) to make it pop.  I can’t live without my Sahara Sand marker for coloring dimensional effects and it isn’t in a color family–you have to look for it in the catalog.

Echoes of Kindness card

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Echoes of KindnessI loved this Level 2 hostess set as soon as I saw it!  And this was a very quick card.

The Echoes of Kindess set (free with your $300 order) was stamped in Black StazOn and colored in with our Bashful Blue and Brocade Blue Stampin’ Write Markers and outlined in So Saffron marker.  The edges were sponged in So Saffron and the oval/scalloped oval frame is the Sizzix ‘Oval Scallop Frame’ (#114521, $19.95).

Details of Echoes of Kindness

I cut two scalloped oval frames, one in vanilla (for the inner oval) and the yellow leafy print is the ‘Walk in the Park’ (#115123, $9.95) Designer Series Paper and the card itself is Brocade Blue cardstock with the ‘Bella Toile’ (#111598, $17.95) background stamp inked in Brocade Blue ink.
