Set Sampler: A Good Egg

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

I made most of these for Leadership 2008 when I was asked to be a display artist. You can click on one of the thumbnails for an upclose detail shot of it and scroll through them. Dig photo #2… my ‘New York high hair’ years…

UPDATE: The original post and template for the egg basket is HERE. You can also use my Archive page to find these as past posts.

Getting ‘out of the box’ — my stamp room is under major construction! The walls are coming down for full access to 1000 square feet of finished basement… I’m so excited!

So, as an apology, I am going to recycle last year’s ideas for you… but I have wonderful new projects and templates to share soon. Why not now you ask? Well, just to keep it fun, not only is my basement under construction, but I have a huge Stamp Festival on Saturday to prepare for during construction.

Ah, never a dull moment!

Nursery Necessities Baby Onesie Card

Friday, February 20th, 2009

How do you like my new “look”?! I’ve been working on it for over a month and decided to take the plunge.  My Gallery is still not completely with the program, but I decided the greater good was to keep it up and running until I move it into the blog format.

Baby Onsie CardBaby Onesie Card (Top View)

This adorable baby ‘onesie’ card has been shamelessly CASE’d from a swap I got from Kevin Theesen, SU’s first male demonstrator!

In searching  for a baby card idea, I found this adorable card in the shape of a baby ‘onesie’ and remade it in Amethyst and the new Designer Series Paper ‘Tea Party’.

CORNER CUTTING ALERT:  I make the card four inches wide (instead of the regular 4 1/4 inches) so that I could maximize the Designer Series paper.

I am bummed my scanner is broken or I would share the template, but it really isn’t a difficult card to re-make. (Everything electronic is working against me!)

The colors are Almost Amethyst & Barely Banana. The stamped image is from Nursery Necessities.

So, besides from that… how DO you like my new blog design?!

Valentine Candy Box redux…

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Love Ya Valentine Hearts boxI know, I know, this has been done over and over… BUT you haven’t seen MINE this year!  (See mine last year here)

Actually, since I put it in my header ‘slideshow’, I’ve been asked to publish the entire thing and so here you go!

To make the box ‘cover’, I shamelessly took a four inch by 12 inch wide piece of bond paper and wrapped it around the box, pinching each corner.  I measured each pinch and then scored a 4 x 8 piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock to cover the box (saving of course my scrap of bond paper for the Smithsonian for when they call…).

The ribbon is a little tricker (in how easy), I punched the top on both sides (you can see through both holes from the front) and then ran a ribbon straight through.  Push the box down into the box cover with the ribbon strand across the bottom and then tie what is left at the top.

If you haven’t gone overboard with the glue (come on… you know who you are…), the box will slide in and out by pulling the bow.

After that works, put the embellishments on the front.

Playful Petals – take 2

Friday, February 6th, 2009

One more card made with the Playful Petals card and Tea Party designer series paper.  I also used the Sizzix ‘Top Note’ die (exclusive to Stampin’ Up!) which is quickly becoming my favorite.

The greeting set is a Sale-A-Bration set "Congrats"… a terrific stamp set with many verses of congratulations.

I believe that the Chunky Essentials Glitter helped this out since I made it feeling like there was something missing… perhaps a strategically placed bow…?  What is your opinion (yes, I want to know!).

Playful Petals Spring Card

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

I’ve been a bad, bad girl with the new catalog!  I couldn’t resist this new set Playful Petals (#113728, set of 7 for $28.95) and its matching ‘Tea Party’ designer series paper (#113992 for $9.95). And I’m TIRED of winter, this makes me feel like spring is almost here!

And isn’t the new Eyelet Border punch (#113692) awesome?!

This was a quick Stamp-A-Stack card we did last week. The colors are Pink Pirouette and Almost Amethyst papers and the Tea Party DSP.

And while you can’t really see it, the Chunky Essentials clear glitter (#108797) is my new addiction… it goes on everything!

I couldn’t figure out the difference to the Chucky Sprinkles (#111343), but the Essentials ‘clear’ glitter is like fine sparkly glass particles and the Sprinkles are circular and iridescent (absolutely beautiful as well).

So, if you have to have it, remember you get a free catalog with your online purchase… and actually much, more more, click here for all your ordering benefits this month!
