Chocolate–My other obsession…

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Chocolate HouseWhere have I been?  Well, up to my elbows in chocolate… which is a family tradition for the Celona family.

For about 20 years now, I have made candy as gifts to friends and neighbors (that live near enough to deliver by hand).  I have included not only the photo, but an ‘extreme’ closeup (when you click on it).

I say that I make it, but it is truly a family affair and there are no shortage of teenage girls these days to help with chocolates to be made. Making chocolate houses...

My daughter Katherine who was ’tiling’ the roof with non-pareils, the walls were molded by my daughter Sarah & her friend Brittany.   And you can see below also the ‘before & after’ shots of the houses in construction. Read More→

Big Shot Envelope Die Box

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

An early little holiday gift for you guys!  How about a visual step-by-step on how to make one of these boxes?

The only thing I left out is that if you are cutting more than one envelope at a time, you really need a crease pad!  It is a sponge pad that goes in front (well, behind the paper) of the cutter, and then is covered by the acrylic board.  So, the ‘sandwich’ goes:  die>papers>crease pad>acrylic board, and then run through.  There isn’t room for the 2nd acrylic board.

I have to photograph the holiday one I just made… look for it tomorrow!  Enjoy!

Winter Post Quick Holiday Card

Monday, December 1st, 2008

I love this card for how quick it is to make!  And I shamelessly stole this card idea from Cindy Lieberman… thanks Cindy!

Stampin' Up! Winter Post

Do you recognize the Designer Series Paper stripe from "Ski Slope"?

Again (as usual), I cut a 2 inch and a 1/2 inch piece and left the part under the skaters blank so I can get the most out of it.

I colored in the skaters with the Bashful Blue marker and then took some ink from the Real Red marker with an Aquapainter to color in the girl’s skirt, hat & collar. I outlined the skaters on one side with my Creamy Caramel ink for a slightly 3D effect.

SET:
Winter Post (from Holiday Mini), Itty Bitty Backgrounds (speckles)
ACCESSORIES: Very Vanilla & Baja Breeze cardstock, Ski Slope DSP, Close to Cocoa ink pad, Markers: Bashful Blue & Real Red, Aquapainters, sponge daubers

So, how did I do?
