A Rose is a Rose… is a beautiful set!

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

The moment I saw this set on cruise, I have been waiting to get my hands on it!!!  At this point, this is going to be my founder’s circle swap (although my hand hurts just thinking about cutting out all those flowers).  This a 4pm the night before my monthly Stamp-A-Stack inspiration card.

A Rose is a Rose, Stampin' Up! Set

The background is the new Bella Toile stamped in "Pretty in Pink", the flowers are Pretty in Pink & Regal Rose, the leaves are Certainly Celery and Always Artichoke and the accent flower is in the new Baja Blue… doesn’t that last color really set it all off.  I popped up the center flower and added a wide grosgain rose color knot!

I know, I know, the minute that I finished it, I realized that I should have used the new Pink Pirouette (but old habits die hard)!

Flip Book Step-By-Step

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

I have updated my Project Gallery to include a new tutorial!

Yet another Flip Book tutorial, but my [penny-pinching] intent was to come up with a ‘formula’ so that you can get two complete books from one Scrappin’ Memories Kit.  Below is a sample of one of my favorites "Tie the Knot".

Flip Book "Tie the Knot" Scrappin' Memories Kit

Click here to download Flip Book TutorialI was devastated that they discontinued ALL the current Scrappin’ Memories kits, I had hoped that it would be my "Over the Top" swap at Convention (I will be posting the paper pins I made soon)!  Remember all of the current Scrappin’ Memories kits are only available until Saturday, so don’t delay!

This flip book  is one of the ongoing classes that I offer at the ScrappingGetaways.com event in Philadelphia quarterly.  The next all-weekend ScrappingGetaway is on November 14, 15, & 16.  You can register for a day or the weekend or just show up for my make & takes and "Class on Demand" (READ: I’m sitting there bored, so sit down and do the class, LOL!), I don’t have a schedule, I’m there all weekend goofing off working very hard to represent Stampin’ Up! in a professional manner

More photos of another flip book that I’ve made is on my Project Gallery, click on Flip Book (at this writing it is my last project posted).

Stampin’ Up! welcomes Sizzix…

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

I know, not a great picture but… as a partnership move with Sizzix, we are carrying the "Big Shot" and exclusive dies designed by Stampin’ Up!  Come to my open house (CLICK HERE for my Calendar) either the morning or evening session to play with it and see the exclusive dies!!!

I will have the flyer available for download JUST AS SOON as we are allowed so check back.

Yes, this is an official Sizzix "Big Shot" BUT it comes in a cool black and features *exclusive* Stampin’ Up! dies AND you can order regular Sizzix dies from me which can earn FREE hostess sets and benefits (so take THAT Michaels!!!).

In an evil move (no doubt meant to rob my children of their college fund) they are offering a matching Stampin’ Up! bag (I don’t need the bag, I don’t need the bag, I don’t need the bag… well, maybe I need the bag….)

This adorable ‘party’ spread was made with our exclusive dies.  Some amazing person thought of alternate uses for the dies to make masks and party stuff (I will be reduced to copying).

Some facts:

  • I have dies from other companies; can I use them with the Big Shot?  Yes, you can. The Big Shot is the most versatile die-cutting machine on the market today. Using the multi-purpose platform, you can use dies, embossing plates, and other products from a wide variety of sources.
  • What materials can I cut with the Big Shot?  You can cut over 50 types of material using the Big Shot.  A good rule of thumb is that if you can cut the material with your Craft & Rubber scissors, you can cut it with the Big Shot.

  • Is the Big Shot exclusive to Stampin’ Up!?  No, the Big Shot machine is not exclusive to Stampin’ Up! However, the Big Shot produced for Stampin’ Up! features a handle color as well as a beautiful logo that are not available on any other version of the Big Shot. In addition to the hundreds of dies already available through Sizzix, they’ve created dies exclusive to Stampin’ Up!  And, as we continue to develop this product line, you’ll see more and more Stampin’ Up! exclusive dies.

An Amazing 20 Year Anniversary Convention!!!

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Founder's CircleThis has been an amazing Convention… it is my 10th Convention and I was shocked to learn that I earned Founders’ Circle!!!  Honestly, you could have knocked me over– and I was convinced that I was the last one (#100)  which would be FINE with me by the way! Or the terrible possibility that they miscounted (and I assured all involved that they were NOT getting the pink leather bag back [...fingers clutching the bag tightly, eyes darting back and forth...]!!!)

This evening was awards night and I amazingly ranked 73 (kind’ve like my HS math average… but without having to sit out in the hall for misbehaving)!

I’m not positive what the formula is, but I know that it has to do with a balance in your business and they set a criteria (that I don’t know that I’ve really wondered about–having it not really ever pertain to me).  However…. I want to thank my amazing team of gals and their hard-earned promotions, the ups and  the downs and the successes.. the new team members that I look forward to getting to know better, my awesome customers and my best dearest support system of ‘sister’ demonstrators whom have become my closest friends in the world.

I LOVE Stampin’ Up!  I have so many times been accused of having no other subject I am able to speak on coherently on, but to those ‘unbelievers’ I have to honestly say… the BEST BEST friends I have ever had in my life are the people that I have met through my crazy passion… how many people can say that about their job?!

Well, it’s late (okay early!) and I will try and share more before I return, I have amazing photos of home decor that I can’t wait to try at home… I’ll give you a teaser and show you this wall art done with Home Decor…

This amazing wall was accented with Decor Element flourishes!!!

Below is an upcoming Decor Element "Season of Thanks" greeting that **I won** as a door prize… some wonderfully creative person put it on the top pane of glass in a shadow box frame with silk leaves, twigs and pinecones… too cool!!!

The new catalog is to die for… I will be posting more soon!!!
