Altered Clipboard
Posted: Monday, July 23rd, 2007 | Comments
I am excited to show my team what we will be making this at our Quarterly “Impress Me” Team Meeting, on August 13th. I have been looking to make a WOW project to entice you ladies to think of stamping this summer!
And as if that isn’t enough, our special guest is the lovely and talented Amanda Coughlin who will be up from Florida to share her stamping magic with us at this meeting as well. For my customers: LOOK for a class for this in September… check for my upcoming newsletter.
I used the new 9×9 chipboard clipboards that we sell with my new favorite Scrappin’ Memories(r) kit “Secret Garden”… fabulous papers in the new colors.
I accented this clipboard with the “Pretties” kit which includes diamond rhinestone brads, pearls (and “half pearls” suitable for gluing on a flat surface) and silk flowers that dye easily. I used my sponge daubers to dye some flowers and also used a few drops of re-inkers diluted in water to dye others.
You can dry the dyed flowers immediately by pressing them in paper towels. I glued these embellishments on with Crystal Effects–I discovered the amazing permanent gluing capabilities of this product when a bottle of it opened in my luggage coming back from Convention 2005!
There is a ‘fold out’ accordion book made from the papers included in the kit. Actually, this didn’t even take half of all the paper and pre-adhesive dye cuts that come with the kit! I will be posting the 6×6 memory album that I made with it (gotta take a picture!)

Bundle of Joy Card & Announcement
Posted: Wednesday, July 18th, 2007 | Comments
I really do love this set “Bundle of Joy” set. The colors are Mellow Moss & Bordering Blue and the stripe and fleur de lis paper is the new Designer Series papers “Jardin”. I took the color combinations from the designer paper and did the coloring with watercolor crayons and Aquapainter. This was a quick and simple card!

Here is another “version” of the card but with the “announcement” stamp that comes with the set.
The blue I used on this card is the new Soft Sky which is alot like a ‘robins egg’ blue. Very soft and almost a hint of green to it.
The blue in the designer series strip is more like Bordering Blue or Bashful blue, but the Soft Sky also worked.

Accordion Tag Album – Holiday Theme
Posted: Saturday, July 14th, 2007 | Comments
This “Accordion Tag Card” is only half a sheet of cardstock, cut 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 2 3/4 inch intervals along the 11″ side. It is the same height as a regular card but only 2 3/4 inches wide.
I used the new “Merry, Merry” set along with the new Level 2 hostess set “Perfect Presentation”. The pull out tag is made with the new holiday set “Big on Christmas”. I don’t know if you can tell that behind the “tree” panel in the middle, the red tab pulls out a small white card with “JOY” from the “Perfect Presentation” set. The card itself is More Mustard and the green is Wild Wasabi ink & paper. I colored the ornaments with markers directly to get the Mustard centers (Garden Green & Bravo Burgundy coordinate very well with the new Wild Wasabi & Purely Pomegranate colors since they don’t have markers).
I know this may seem like rushing things, but I have a “Christmas in July” workshop with a favorite group of ladies that are always my first party “of the new year”! I think I’ll also do this at my class next week!

“Clearly” Lovely, Baroque Motifs
Posted: Saturday, July 7th, 2007 | Comments
This card was made with the Baroque Motifs set in the new ‘Blue Bayou’ In Color.
The base of the card is white and the first layer is ‘Blue Bayou’ cardstock stamped in ‘Blue Bayou’ ink.
The top layer is a piece of overhead transparency (from OfficeMax) stamped in White StazOn (ink that dries on nonporous surfaces). Any sheet acetate will do, the one I used was very a very cheap transparency sheet (and you get 4 to a card). Buy a box of a hundred 8 1/2 by 11 transparencies and you are set for life!
UPDATE: in response to all of the questions on how it was adhered, I used a small amount of monoadhesive under the “cherish” tag so you wouldn’t see it through.
The focal greeting was stamped in ‘Blue Bayou’ on white and then punched out with the lovely ‘Designer Label’ punch (now available by itself in the new catalog). I am excited that this punch is available with the entire punch box kit as I use it often and I know you’ll love it to (but maybe don’t want the kit cost)! I adhered it with Dimensionals(tm).
I did use our old narrow organdy ribbon but I’ll be featuring our new ribbon with my next projects.
