This is a total teaser for Cindy’s Winter Mini Catalog Swap.  I am fooling around on my new laptop and should be finishing my swap… I have taken the time to show you guys who didn’t sign up what you are missing!

Carte Postal Stampin' Up! SetThe (front) focal image was embossed on vellum cardstock in white and colored from behind in with markers and blended with blender pen then layered onto Vanilla cardstock, torn and layered onto Perfect Plum cardstock. Colors are: Pale & Perfect Plum, Mellow Moss & Always Artichoke.

The background is “French Flair” background stamp from the Winter Mini Catalog embossed in Detail White embossing powder on vellum cardstock (and sponged from behind). This was layered onto a Vanilla background roller wheeled with the “Leaves A La Carte” (Winter Mini) in Mellow Moss.

Of course the swirls are glittered as is the focal image (it doesn’t scan though.  Leave a comment and tell me how you like it!

I collect these beautiful brass templates, but I don’t often use (what have I been thinking!). I only have luck embossing on the white or vanilla cardstock, never colored cardstock–if you’ve figured out how to pressure emboss on dark colored cardstock, please let me know!

If you press wax paper into the grooves before using the Empressor stylus on the light table, embossing goes faster. Adhere Dotto to both sides of brass template so that it does not shift while you are working.

I embossed the “Bundle Up” images in white on the “Holiday Thyme” snowflake printed paper.  I am still in CT for the Thanksgiving weekend but look forward to get home to play with my new Winter Mini catalog stamp sets!

Happy Thanksgiving– hope you find some time to sneak away and stamp!

I made this fun card pretty quickly with the Designer Series paper “Holiday Thyme” which retires November 30th with the Holiday Mini Catalog. I have to remember to stock up on it before it is gone for good. These wonderful papers create quick colorful layers to any card.
Sleigh Full of Toys

I stamped the sleigh in Basic Black and colored it in with Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, Sahara Sand and More Mustard markers and a blender pen.

The edges of the vanilla cardstock was sponged with Burgundy and I “popped” up the gift on the ground next to the sleigh. The burgundy grosgrain ribbon is just the perfect touch.

You can’t see the glitter which adds the right amount of sparkle to this fabulous and fabulously easy card!

This is one of my favorite sets, I just love it so much! My new favorite background is the Flannel Plaid, it makes me warm just looking at it!
Peaceful Wishes

The pinecones are stamped in Bravo Burgundy and greens in Artichoke, the card is Cranberry Crisp with Bravo Burgundy ink for the Flannel Plaid. The other card is done on Ivory Naturals in Chocolate Chip and Artichoke inks. One of the cards we made at the team meeting is the one on the left, so THAT’S what you get for missing it!!! Other samples I have made with this set are here.

This is an idea I got years ago when I received an “envelope book” in a swap.  I wanted to see more ideas with this style of book, so I had a contest and in it, I got a “snowman soup” entry from that I just LOVED from a Debbie Fisher that I shamelessly CASE’d.

I am sharing the photo as well as the Word Documents that have all of the writing that you see on it. Click here for the “main poem” on the front. Click here for the words on the inside. To see my original contest and the inspiration, click here.
Snowman Soup

I pull this out every other year and “recycle” the idea to new friends and customers and it is always well received! The snowman is from Holiday Tag Team and the other sets are Snowflakes and the square stamp set eludes me (we have a few sets with that stamp and I am being lazy!).

I am diligently working on designing a swap for Amanda C’s Winter Mini swap. This is “Perennial Friendship” which would not have been my first choice but it is growing on me! I embossed the tulips in detail white embossing powder on vellum and colored with markers on the back before layering it back onto white cardstock. The decorative paper is the phenomenal new “Enchante” papers that will be available December 1st in the new Winter Mini Catalog.

My color scheme is Perfect Plum and Sage Shadow, the markers I used were Perfect Plum, Sage and Garden Green. I blurred the marker with a blender pen to make the white embossed edges stand out (remember, all coloring was done on the back of the vellum). Wet vellum wrinkles so I used my glue stick to glue it down to a white rectangle the exact side of the vellum (2 inches by 3 inches). Okay, so how’d I do?!

Well, I got this idea for the front closing by the back panel “wrapping” around to the front and closing with Velcro from my friend Sue who showed me this GREAT paper bag book that she made. Well, I have trouble with the folding and the general logistics of paper bags, so I wimped out and went with folded envelopes–it’s only two #10 envelopes inside. The “cover” is an 8 1/2 by 11 Cranberry Crisp paper cut 4 1/4 x 11 and scored (see more details about the creation of this in my Gallery).
