I collect these beautiful brass templates, but I don’t often use (what have I been thinking!). I only have luck embossing on the white or vanilla cardstock, never colored cardstock–if you’ve figured out how to pressure emboss on dark colored cardstock, please let me know!
If you press wax paper into the grooves before using the Empressor stylus on the light table, embossing goes faster. Adhere Dotto to both sides of brass template so that it does not shift while you are working.
I embossed the “Bundle Up” images in white on the “Holiday Thyme” snowflake printed paper. I am still in CT for the Thanksgiving weekend but look forward to get home to play with my new Winter Mini catalog stamp sets!

I love your work – just beautiful. And the people in the swap are so fortunate to get Postale card you’ve made! The vellum suits that background stamp. TFS!

HI Amy, If you rub the wax paper over your cardstock before embossing it will glide over it very easily.
For doing dark paper that does not let the light through I place it the same way…then I take the wax paper and heavily rub around the image outlines throught the cardstock so you can sort of see the shapes. The use the empressor and go around the shapes. You can also just scribble the empressor back and forth over the back of the cardstock cardstock…this makes the cardstock look not so pretty on the back but you can layer this onto a card base and no one will be the wiser.
Hope this makes sense! LOL
Great blog! TFS
