I am diligently working on designing a swap for Amanda C’s Winter Mini swap. This is “Perennial Friendship” which would not have been my first choice but it is growing on me! I embossed the tulips in detail white embossing powder on vellum and colored with markers on the back before layering it back onto white cardstock. The decorative paper is the phenomenal new “Enchante” papers that will be available December 1st in the new Winter Mini Catalog.
My color scheme is Perfect Plum and Sage Shadow, the markers I used were Perfect Plum, Sage and Garden Green. I blurred the marker with a blender pen to make the white embossed edges stand out (remember, all coloring was done on the back of the vellum). Wet vellum wrinkles so I used my glue stick to glue it down to a white rectangle the exact side of the vellum (2 inches by 3 inches). Okay, so how’d I do?!

I LOVE this card Amy! I’m inspired to use my vellum. I forget to use that sometimes. I think this was one of the first techniques you ever taught me and I bought everything you used!
You’re a good influence. 🙂
