Uncharted Territory Summer Card

Uncharted Territory Stampin' Up! SetThis morning I am celebrating the redesign of www.ustamp4fun.com.  If you are reading this post via email… come on down and let me know what you think!  It took me about as long to optimize its faster loading as it did to design.

This set reminds me that I totally miss living near the ocean.  As a teenager I would bike 20 miles to Jones’ Beach from Seaford, Long Island.  I can’t imagine doing that now.  I would likely need to be scraped off the pavement after a mile or so, LOL!  And there is no danger, now that I am land-locked her in Pennsylvania.

This new set ‘Uncharted Territory’ from the new Stampin’ Up! Idea Book & Catalog is so awesome that it has disappeared out of my stamp room.  Seriously, its missing and I’d like it back someone, LOL!  Anyway, if you click on the catalog link above, you may not have noticed, but you can type in the search bar ‘Uncharted’ and it will bring you right to the page where it is featured.

Uncharted Territory - Stampin' Up! Set Detail ShotIt think that the secret to the success of this card is the layering.  I also used a new embossing folder and watercolor crayons and an Aquapainter for a very simple wetbrush technique.

And for the design inspiration, I actually got the idea for the card layout from the gift bag sample in the catalog.  Go check it out!

As a subscriber to you blog, I very seldom ever visit the site. Thanks for inviting me to take a look–love it! Your card today is just a great idea for those masculine cards I need later this week. Because I do read in e-mail format, I never leave a comment either–sorry about that. I need to get better at checking in once in awhile.

Me, too, Amy. I never come here because your feed gives me everything right there in my email. And it’s a good thing, too ….. I haven’t even seen this in the new catalog. I can’t thank you enough for giving the dimensions of your card layers. Such a life-saver in last minute situations, not that you’ve ever experienced that! LOL I got the Workshop Wow DVD from 2007-2008 regionals and loved your envelope tricks!

Thanks Celia… I am ALWAYS last minute though! And yes–my 15 minutes (or should I say 5 minutes) of fame is right there for the world to see, LOL! I think I was the only one that day that stopped at 5 minutes… I had so many more samples… you can see some of them by viewing the ‘Envelope Trick’ category:

    Amy,

The new ‘design’ is wonderful. I’m so glad to see the newer cards in the header. They are just great. I always check you website every time you send an update. Thanks for all the inspiration.

(Noticed you have some other GA ‘lookers’…Savannah (only about 60 miles from me), Roswell and Laweranceville!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Thanks Evanda! I am thinking of changing the cards from time to time (unlike my last look!).

That is a really cute card and love the colors! The lighthouse is my favorite part of it. Using the square lattice with the Big Shot was an adorable idea. I’m glad I found your blog
