The Sounding Joy Stampin' Up! Set

I just love these colors… Crumb Cake/Soft Suede/Black for a homespun Christmas card look.

The ‘metal’ embossed look is achieved by inking the relief (or raised impression) side of the embossing folder with a Whisper White Crafters Ink pad before running it through the Sizzix die cutting machine.

I have included the materials and measurements and have conveniently linked the materials to my store… hey, you can’t fault a girl for trying!

Halloween Mummy Box (or Lollipop Cover)

Thursday, October 27th, 2011

Halloween Mummy Box with Sizzix Pillow Box

This adorable ‘pillow box’ makes not only a nice Halloween treat box, but you can punch a hole in the bottom and make it a a lollipop cover!

The ‘box’ is the Sizzix ‘pillowbox’ die and it is entirely Sahara Sand paper and torn Sahara Sand with sponged White Crafters ink.  Of course the ‘gravestone’ is the large tag punch… and I inked the greeting from the new ‘Delightful Dozen‘ stamp set (carefully making sure not to ink the image that was on the stamp).

MATERIALS & SUPPLIES -
Set: Delightful Dozen
Accessories:
5 ½  x 4 ¾ Sahara Sand cardstock
5 ½ x 3 Sahara Sand (for ripping–or I used the left over from above)
White Crafters Ink, Sponge Daubers, Basic Black Marker
Large Tag Punch, Dimensionals, 4 inches Sticky Strip
Other:  Google eyes

Gently Falling Thanksgiving Card

Sunday, October 23rd, 2011

Gently Falling Thanksgiving CardOkay, in my usual papersaving manner, I have cut the background paper (‘Spice Cake’ designer series paper) in a 3×4 in piece (for the bottom) and 2×4 in piece (for the top) which maximizes the amount of layers I can get with no waste… and the middle gap kind’ve works with the Espresso cardstock showing.

The leaves were stamped in Early Espresso ink onto the ‘First Edition’ designer series paper, sponged and cut out.  I used two Sizzix dies to make the scalloped circle and inside vanilla… I need to pull out my SU circle cutter to make a closer fitting center, but I was being lazy this week.

Tell me what you think!

Gently Falling ‘Giving Thanks’ card

Stampin' Up! Gently Falling Stamp Set
I just simply love this new set of outline/inline stamps ‘Gently Falling’ from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog.

In fact, I actually got my act together and created a video (if you are reading this via Feedburner mail, you can’t see the video).

You’ll see that my hand is bandaged… I got the idea to give my cat a flea-bath. Seemed like a good idea at the time.  I have stitches, antibiotics and a tetanus shot for my efforts. Anyone want an orange tabby cat? Spayed and all her shots.

But I digress.

The card is Very Vanilla on Crumb Cake.  The ink is Crumb Cake and the leaf is Wild Wasabi and Pumpkin Pie done with the ‘rolling’ technique.  This is an old technique that’s been around forever, however it is easier ‘seen than said,’ if you get what I mean.

I want to credit Erika Clark for the inspiration for this card!

Beautiful Season Christmas Card

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Season Christmas Card

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Season Christmas CardsI seriously LOVE this bird!  The set is the new ‘Beautiful Season’ (W #122680, C # 122682) from the 2011-12 Idea Book & Catalog but I do love birds anyway.

The awesome paper is ‘Frostwood Lodge’ from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I was able to use the three different large plaids to make 108 of these cards.  The magic of it is that I am using only 2 inches by 4 inches of the designer paper on the front.

The Eboneezer method to making a holiday card (i.e., maximizing the materials).  The  ‘white’ layer in the background (on top of the card) is 2 1/2 x 4 inches of white cardstock pressed with Finial press Sizzix embossing folder.  It adds texture and, even better, I can get 8 of this size layer from one piece of cardstock with minimal waste.

And, as I said before, the plaid paper cut at 2 x 4, you get 18 per 12 x 12 sheet.  If you are doing the math, that leaves a space of about 1/2 inch between the top layer and the bottom one and I covered it with the 5/8th inch satin ribbon.  Aren’t I just SO resourceful?!

Oh, and did I mention, these are my Founder’s Circle swap.
