Apothecary Art Card

Stampin' Up! Apothacary Art Card

UPDATE:  I have added a video on how I did the watercolor techniques:
Parts appear blurry, but close ups are clear

Stampin' Up! Apothecary Art Detail1

I just *love* the new Occasions Mini Catalog set ‘Apothecary Art’ (wood: #125525, clear: #125527) that so perfectly coordinates with our new Sizzix Framelits die set called ‘Labels Collection’ for the Big Shot.  If you have been holding out getting a Big Shot, I think the new Framelits dies are going to be what finally pushes you over the edge, LOL!

This is one of the cards that is part of my new online order gift… read all about your purchase gifts here.  The card is ‘Not Quite Navy’ cardstock, the image is stamped in Black StazOn and colored in with the Watercolor Wonder Crayons and a blender pen (which is a change for me, I usually use the Aquapainters, but this time I wanted a more ‘controlled’ watercolor look).  The layer in the middle is Soft Suede and the flowers in the focal image were shaded (outside) with the Soft Suede Watercolor Crayon (from the Neutrals collection).

Other accessories I used are:  Basic Pearls (#119247), ‘Victoria‘ (#118481) Crochet Trim ribbon, (new) Twitterpated Designer Buttons (from the Occasions Mini Catalog).  Other Sizzix accessories are the Embossing Folders:  Elegant Lines #119277 and Square Lattice #119976.

I’m with Jenn and Patricia! The embossed pieces are stunning additions. The color scheme is gorgeous for male or female gift giving. The shading around the flowers make them pop as though 3D. Yeah, it’s a definite CASE job here again, Amy! Thanks for sharing your you-ness with us!!!

This is beautiful. Got to be one of my faves. I have a lot of customers who love their spellbinders and are already sold on our framelits and edgelits and of course they are better because we have the stamps to exactly match. See you in a few days.

I used regular paper, but I used the blender pens instead of the Aquapainters because I was afraid to ruin the paper. And thanks for the pin!

I never knew what Spellbinders were… this was the first time I’ve seen this type of cutter and I’m LOVING them! And yeah, the fact that we’ve designed sets to match is a huge bonus.

Ok you asked for honesty…. I really love the card and colors but really dislike the crochet ribbon.Distracts from the elegance of the card.

Thanks Doreen! That’s fine, but it really looks better in person.

Love it all, the textures, the watercoloring & shaded work, even the crochet ribbon- I think that and the pearls gives it a vintage feel.
Would love to see a tutorial on your water coloring- very 3-D!
    Thanks for the inspiration.

I’ve gotten about a half dozen private questions about my coloring, so I will be updating this with a video on how I watercolored this!

I love the card AND your choice of ribbon! Differences of opinion makes it all go round, right? :0)
