Bunny Basket

I couldn’t help myself… I love this bunny!  Below is a step-by-step PDF on how the box/basket was made (not a revolutionary idea, but certainly an easy one) using the Scalloped Envelope Sizzix die.

I am back from Hawaii and real life (which doesn’t seem to measure up to luxury resort living!).

Today is the very last day of Sale-A-Bration (featuring a free gift for each $50 purchase) as well as my monthly online purchase gift of the ‘Good Egg’ Spring & Easter projects PDF (read about it here).

It is also the last day to join Stampin’ Up! for only $169.  The kit is an amazing special price this month and the least expensive way to start your own home based creative business.  Contact me if this intrigues you… or join online (in about 15 minutes) HERE.

Punch Bunny Easter Box!

Punch Art Box

I leave for Hawaii on Stampin’ Up!’s incentive trip in 10 hours!!!

And before I leave, I want to share with you an adorable bunny box and template… the ‘bunny’ punching inspiration came from the stamping Diva herself Sam Parisi… thanks Sam!

Bunny Box

The box actually uses no stamps, it’s all punches: Large Oval & Small Oval, 1 3/8 inch jumbo circle, ½ inch circle,  ¼ inch circle, 1/16th inch circle, Scalloped circle.

Punch Bunny Sideview

This is a mini ‘top note’ box made from a piece of cardstock 5 x 6 1/2 and the resulting box fits half of a ‘top note’ die cut piece of cardstock.

But stay tuned, I have a ‘full sized’ top note box to share with you that you are going to LOVE!

And don’t forget, my monthly online ordering gift ends soon… one more week to get the ‘Good Egg’ Spring & Easter projects sheet… as well as the extra special Friends 24/7 project sheets offer!

Aloha!

A Good Egg Basket

A Good Egg - Easter Basket

I am dusting off this idea that I posted last year because everything electronic is in collusion against me and I have been forced to buy a new camera AND a new scanner and have to now figure them out!

So enjoy a reprint of this downloadable template (click on thumbnail left to download the directions and template).

This was one of the Stamp Festival projects last Spring… a 3D egg basket ‘gold on gold’.  Stampin’ Up!’s awesome “Brushed Gold” paper embossed with the flourish from ‘Baroque Motifs’ (egg from “A Good Egg” set). See more samples of “A Good Egg” on my website.

Support Me in Brain Tumor Awareness

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

christinaloefflerThis year, it is with a heavier heart that I ask you for your support in our family’s walk in the 2nd Annual ‘Get Your Head in the Game’ Brain Tumor Awareness Walk.

Click here to go directly to my sponsor page that supports the ‘Christina’s Crusaders’ Team.  Click here to learn more and for the links to the Foundation.

We will again be walking in the Christina’s Crusaders team but Christina will only be there in spirit this year.   Last year she was less than a week from surgery to remove a large portion of the tumor but her happy and excited presence was so uplifting. Read More→

Mirror Image Embossing Technique

mirrorimageMaterials:  Inspired By Nature stamp set (on the dormant list), More Mustard, Old Olive & Close to Cocoa Crafter’s Inks, Versamark, Crystal Clear Embossing powder, sponge daubers, dry (dead) blender pen, Vanilla cardstock.

I could say it was a new take on emboss resist, but it’s been around for years.  Ironing off the embossing powder onto newsprint or other scrap paper to get rid of the shiny ‘resist’ layer is an old trick, but when you use Crafter’s ink, it doesn’t really ‘resist’ like it should so you have no choice but to iron off the excess.

EXCEPT that if you iron it off onto good cardstock, you end up with a mirror image of just the ink you sponged onto the flower on the first…

Below are a few step-by-step photos but you can download the project ‘to go’ (left).

Inspired By Nature Emboss Resist 2

First the flowers were stamped in Versamark on Vanilla cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I used a sponge dauber and crafters ink to color to the entire card.  I wiped off the excess ink on the embossed areas (but it leaves a residue).

This is what it looks like immediately after ironing the two together. You have to pull it apart while it is hot.

The BEST part is that the embossing powder is half on each project and you can actually color it directly with a ‘dead’ blender (yes, I keep old dry blender pens) and some Crafter’s ink on both of them to give them definition.

Heat set the entire project and the clear embossing powder melt again and set the color for good.

This was very easy… and one of my October 08 Stamp Festival projects!  So, how’d I do?

Memory Purse

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Memory PurseI call this my little ‘memory purse’ and I got one made with Bella Rose in one of my WOW swaps.  I cannot find the original one  however I am quite certain it was made by Becky Roberts who an awesome stamper!

The pocketbook is actually tiny, the base of it is two 3×3 white envelopes held together by a 3×3 square of white cardstock (see photo below for a finished sample and the ‘construction’ shots).

The thumbnail of the inside of the purse is clickable to see details of it.

This project is part of the 12 page step-by-step photo project sheet of my ‘Friends 24/7 Stamp Festival’ (see a preview of all the projects here and you can read about my online ordering specials here).
