Wow, I didn’t realize how painful it was to photograph a 12×12 scrapbook layout… let alone two! This required much photographing to get right. By the way, if you hold down the CNTL button and then click on the image above you can see it at 1000 pixels wide (bypassing the size limiting lightbox plugin I have on my blog).
But I had to share how wonderful the Stampin’ Up! Spice Cake designer series papers look on a scrapbook page. I cut two 2×12 inch strips of the Paisley print, two 1/2 x 12 inch strips of the dark tiny print and 1 inch of the white/light tiny print. The layouts are almost mirror image. The background is Soft Suede 12 x 12 cardstock and the leaves are Pear Pizzaz, Early Espresso, More Mustard and Spice Cake DSP. The leaves were cut with the Leaves #2 Sizzix Originals die (#113459) and some of the leaves were texturized with the Square Lattice embossing folder (#119976) in the Sizzix Big Shot machine. Other accessories used were the Two Tags Bigz die #115954, Hemp twine #100982, Very Vanilla cardstock, and Dimensionals.
THIS IS SO SIMPLE!!! Well, of course it took me 200 tries and 3 hours to finally be satisfied because I am ‘scrap impaired’ but once I got going, I could easily do some different takes on the same layout. I am getting pressured to offer scrapbooking nights. Contact me if you are local and are interested. I’m willing to do all day scraps that include pre-made layouts this winter (if I get enough interest).
How did I do with this simple ‘linear’ type 2 page scrapbook layout?

LOVE it! I’m completely smitten with the Spice Cake DSP and have been thinking about creating a scrapbook for next year digitally. Might be easier to just hybridize with real photos as the year goes along instead of waiting to do it all at once. I love this layout. It’s not too linear for me.
