Holy Triptych Stained Glass Window

Holy Triptych (07 Holiday Mini Catalog)Yeah!  I’m playing with my new mini catalog sets (when I should be sleeping).  My surgery went well and while the growth in my middle ear did come back, hopefully it has been removed it for good (fingers crossed!).  The ear aches a bit and my lower lip and tongue is somewhat numb in some spots (not sure why that is) but nothing bad.  Thank you all for the good thoughts!  The packing comes out in a few weeks and I guess I’ll see then (or hear then, LOL)!

This new set is Holy Triptych and if you can’t wait to see it all… you can view the Holiday Mini Catalog online HERE!

I’ll try to explain the details… but I can tell you that this card looks better in person.  I embossed the Holy Family in white on vellum cardstock and then colored with markers and blended with blender pens on the back and then mounted it again on white paper.

I played with the contrast on the photo so you can see the details better… The starburst in the background is the new set “Snow Burst” embossed with Iridescent Ice over Versamark and the greeting is the new set “Star Studded Season” embossed in white on Bashful Blue.

I am supposed to make 25 of these for a swap due on Monday so I’m going to need a colossal burst of energy (READ: small miracle) for that to happen!

Wow, Amy, another wonderful submission for us so soon. I love this card. It is a set that I want to purchase, and when I saw it, I thought, “black.” What I plan to do is black emboss on black paper and paint with Pearl-Ex. That is one of my well used techniques. It is such a treat to see a wonderful version in white. Truly inspirational and one which I will try. I am a new fan of yours. Oh how I get excited when my subscription arrives. What appeals to me, beyond your artistic talents, is the professional look to your blog. I just went to Hobby Lobby and purchased backdrops to help my presentation.

Oh my gosh, I forgot to say I’m happy to hear your surgery went well. Was a tube placed in your mouth? It sounds like that is why you are feeling numb. Hope it clears up soon for you.

Amy, do you have Otosclerosis? If so, please email me. I have had 3 surgeries and ended up with a BAHA implant. I have lost one ear completely and the other has affected the cochea. I would love to chat if this is what you are dealing with.

Amy, I’m still in awe when I see this card but how did you layer the vellum on the white cardstock without the glue or whatever you used not showing? I would love a reply because in the four years I’ve been stamping I still can’t layer that way without my adhesive showing! Would you please be so kind as to reply to my e-mail address above with your secret? I promise I won’t tell anyone!! Thanks.

Amy. I am a little behind the time but have admired this card for a while. I am wondering how you ‘mounted’ the vellum to the WW C/S so that nothing shows. Please email me and let me know your secret. Thanks. I really do love your work. Judi

No secret! The vellum is backed onto Whisper White cardstock with our stick glue (glue on the white c/s and the vellum laid on top of it).

Love this card, truly beautiful! It looks in the photo like you not only embossed the image but glittered on top of the embossed outline as well — did you? You have inspired me to get this set, even if I have to buy it from someone else since I didn’t order it by Nov. 30! Thanks for sharing.

You say the stamp was on Vellum Cardstock, does stampin up sell that? If you mean glued to cardstock, how do you keep the vellum from warping when you emboss it? I love this card!

Amy, I see this was a while ago. I just bought this set and was wondering what I should do with it. I love your artistic style.
Here’s praying you are well. God’s Healing to you and Happy New Year 2010
