Gift bag from an Envelope– Part II
Filed Under 3D Project, Envelope Trick! | 4 Comments
This is an update for all the questions that I have gotten!
You can see in the photo the regular medium Vanilla envelope was sealed and (holding it portrait) using the tag punch, punch out each side, leaving the flap in the middle as a handle. I actually can get down one and a half punches to make the handle longer.
Trim the outer 45 degree angle left from the tag punch off to square off the outer edge.
I could have just explained it, but a photo is worth a thousand words!

Gift Bag from an Envelope
Filed Under 3D Project, Envelope Trick! | 6 Comments
This cute little bag was made from a regular sized vanilla envelope… sealed and then the “tag punch” was used to punch the sides and what’s left in the middle forms the handle and you can slip something small in it.
I got this adorable idea from my downline Jackie Schultz who borrowed my Doodle This set and when she returned it, included a sample of the one she made with it! Thank you Jackie!
This is one of the seven projects for my April Stamp-A-Stack of stuff I am doing tonight and tomorrow morning.

The lure of sponge daubers…
Filed Under Personal | 3 Comments
I am preparing for my class tonight and my cat Bonnie has discovered that I have left the sponge daubers unguarded! They are her weakness…showing once more how versatile this wonderful accessory is!
Bonnie is one of three kitties that I have adopted from the Dumpster Cat Rescue League (located in DE). They are a wonderful organization of ladies who network to rescue, spay and find homes for these cats and kittens. They rely entirely on volunteers and donations from generous cat lovers.
Bonnie is my favorite and my buddy. I had a black and white cat named Shadow for 15 years and when Shadow went away I didn’t think I would ever love a cat that much again. Well, Bonnie is a very close second! I am glad I took the plunge to love again, because we were meant to be together. Her litter mate Bella is a very beautiful black and white cat, but regards me with a look that sizes me up as a “lower life form”. I know where I stand with her “I live to serve”.
I will be posting soon some of my class ideas!

6×6 Album with “Tickets & Tokens”
Filed Under 3D Project, Memory Project | 5 Comments

I love these easy to make paper “albums”! I will be teaching this class at the ScrappingGetaway.com event in Philadelphia this weekend (and I offer it quarterly).
This album is exactly half of a Scrappin’ Memories(tm) kit and I will be uploading the photos of all the different books that I have made with the different kits. Until then, you can view the ones on my Project Gallery which include directions on how to make them!

Accordion Book - Stamp Festival Teaser
Filed Under 3D Project, Memory Project | 9 Comments
This
is a teaser for one of our Stamp Festival projects! You have to be there to make it.
The idea comes the inspiration by Amanda Coughlin my very talented friend from the very lovely Tampa, Florida. If you are near Tampa, you’ve got to look Amanda up and tell her that I sent you. They LINE UP for her classes–she has to beat them away!
She had this idea to make an accordion book with the “long notes” cards that we sell in the new Spring Mini Catalog. She was going on and on very excited (you know… blah, blah blah, blah blah… ) but it didn’t HIT me what she was talking about (I am a very visual person so I couldn’t figure out what she was talking about at first). I other things I had
to do (including laundry but that doesn’t really count) and couldn’t concentrate, so I tried to do what she was saying and then it did hit me! The girl’s a genious.
Well, I guess you can figure out construction from the photo showing how the card was scored and fits into the fold over envelope. I put a bunch of photos together to show some detail–but not all!). My customers can construct one at my Stamp Festival in May!
You can view Amanda’s which is a gift accordion album to her mother (very sweet) here.

Birthday Invitation
Filed Under Birthday | 3 Comments
It is very hard to believe that my “baby” has turned 9! How can it be as I never get any older?
I purchased this set “Eat Cake” last year when it came out, but this is the first time that I am using it.
The style was cut like a file folder and the Designer Series paper “Petals & Paisley” came to my rescue as the inspiration for the color palette as well as it is the accent stripe down the front. I will be using this set again, I really love the versatile pieces in it.
Beth roller wheeled the front with the jumbo “Petals” wheel from the Spring Mini and was the main cut and assembly person for her invitation. She had so much fun making it, it was a joy to watch.

Simply Spring card & holder
Filed Under 3D Project | Leave a Comment
This adorable card is actually an “oldie” made with the Simply Spring set… I’ve been too busy to play with my new stuff (as well as I have loaned so many of my stamps out, I can’t play ![]()
I love the combination of yellow & black… and who doesn’t love bees (okay, people who are allergic to their bites?!).
The card is actually a standard size but instead of folding over, it folds in from the top and bottom into the middle and the top is corrugated. I usually wing it and have to fold more than once to make it the correct size (hence the corrugation to cover my mistakes, LOL).
I have to use the sticky strip to attach anything to corrugated
papersince it really does resist most other glues. The ribbon holds the card closed.
This second photo shows the “one piece” of cardstock that I used to make a stationery holder (okay, so this one doesn’t fit more than 3 cards).
The secret to making this stationery holder is to just score it at a bit larger than one of the cards and scoring the center at at least 1 inch to accomodate 4 cards and envelopes. This was my prototype so it really isn’t big enough to fit more than one card.
