Holiday Pocketbook/Holiday Shopping List

Holiday Gift Giving Pocketbook

This adorable pocketbook is copied from a WOW swap that I organized at Convention 07–one of my favorites is this one by Shaunna Hailey.  It was also one of the projects at our Fall Stamp Festival (the only one not done with the featured set).

Other than changing the stamping on the outside of the pocketbook, I stuck to her original design–I loved it that much!

The pocketbook opens to a cut-down tiny white paper bag pocket (to hold receipts). The bottom flap holds a “shopping list” for keep track of your Holiday gift giving list.  See project details and downloads in my Project Gallery.

The pocketbook is glossy and I stamped the snowflakes that you see in white in Versamark and then embossed with clear embossing powder. To make them ‘pop’ out, I used a sponge dauber and sponged both the Soft Sky & Blue Bayou to create a mottled look before stamping the other snowflakes in Blue Bayou over it all.  You can’t see the glitter but the sparkle finishes it off just right.

The snowflakes are from the Snowburst stamp set in the Holiday Mini Catalog (pg. 16) and the snowman and circular stamp from Perfect Presentation (Fall/Winter Collection Catalog Level 2 Hostess Set).

I loved the way Shaunna adhered the bow by threading it through the bottom folds with one end going around the back and one around the front to tie permanently. You can open the pocketbook by pushing the bow back over the edge and close it by pulling it shut.
