Anyway, good thing I have a photo and it was super easy to make anyway!

The body of the box is the ‘Bag With Scallops’ (#114519) Sizzix XL Die without the sides attached and decorated with the Halloween designer paper ‘Cast a Spell’ (#115677).  It takes very little designer paper to dress this up and our Scalloped circle punch (#109043) fits nicely on top of the fold over scalloped flap.

The ghosts are from the Holiday Mini Catalog set ‘Twick or Tweet’ (#116497) and just outlined in Sahara Sand marker.

The Scalloped Oval punch (#114889)  fits nicely into the Wide Oval punch (#112082), don’t you think?  So well that three of my six projects last week for my Stamp a Stack used those two punches requiring me to order another pair of them.  Although everyone shared nicely I am happy to report!

This unique card holder will be one of the projects we will be making–and it conveniently fits all the 3D cards we will be making!

I absolutely LOVE this new Thanksgiving stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  It is ‘Gifts of the Earth’ and it works so beautifully with that designer series paper!

Materials:  Gifts of the Earth stamp set (#116501, set of 4 $20.95), French Filgree background stamp (#113742, $17.95),  Autumn Traditions Designer Series paper (#115668, $9.95), More Mustard cardstock (#100946), More Mustard ink (#103162) & Black Staz On, Watercolor Crayons – Earth Elements, and Aquapainters.

I have some more beautiful cards to come with this set.

I brought out the Sage Shadow stripe in the designer series paper with a horizontal ‘laced’ edge as a border between the dots & stripes.  The edging was achieved with the Eyelet Border punch (#113692, $15.95)

The bear is stamped on Whisper White cardstock and the bow is white taffeta (109070, $6.95 for 10 yards) held on with glue dots.

I like to color and it just took minutes to watercolor the bear and stamp the greeting.

Be sure when watercoloring to use Black StazOn (#101406, $7.95) so that the ink doesn’t run (READ: don’t try that with just any black ink pad).

The new Stampin’ Up! set featured is ‘Peace Within’ (#114312, set of 4 for $22.95).

The background is the new background stamp ‘Woodgrain’ (#117100, $17.95) stamped in Close to Cocoa on Creamy Caramel paper.

The papers used are Creamy Caramel, More Mustard and Close to Cocoa.  The focal image was stamped in black StazOn and colored in with the Rich Regal watercolor crayons and Aquapainters.

I am still working out technical issues with my next video featuring a cute 3×3 card holder made from one piece of 12×12 paper… keep your eyes peeled!

This card was a lot of fun to make, not to mention easy!

I used the new ‘Nature’s Nest’ stamp set (click on the thumbnail for a larger image) and you can be sure I will be sharing more.

The colors are the new Soft Suede for both the card, a torn layer and the feather stamped image. The cardfront is Mellow Moss and there are torn layers of More Mustard and Chocolate Chip.

I ‘texturized’ the torn layers with the Texture Plates Kit #4 for the Sizzix ‘Big Shot’.  The Texture Plates kit came with three plates, each double sided and one side was a rough bark like texture which was perfect!  The nest was stamped in Black StazOn and colored in with the watercolor crayons and an aquapainter.

The tree and deer silhouettes are separate stamps and were stamped in black and the sky was sponged (using a sponge dauber) with a *tiny* bit of the following colors (from the top down):  Bashful Blue, Barely Banana, Blush Blossom & Mellow Moss.  How easy is that?!

The designer series paper is ‘Prestwick’ (from the Fall/Winter 2008 catalog) is the exact same patterns (different colors) as the current (and retiring next week) Manchester DSP.  Love those plaids!

I have included my ‘quick card’ template for making a super-fast card with Designer Series Papers.

The dimentions are as follows:   standard sized card turned ‘landscape’ , the bottom layer is 4×4, the next layer is 4 x 3 1/2, the top (focal stamped image) is 3 x 3 1/4.

Okay, so what are you waiting for?  You know this won’t be Tony’s card (he’d say ‘another roadkill card’ remember?)

I have some wonderful new samples coming that I am working on for my May Stamp-A-Stack of stuff tomorrow.  It will feature some terrific masculine cards for that special guy in your life–or even your husband!

The Upsy Daisy stamp was inked in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.  The color combination was from the  Urban Garden Designer Series paper… Kiwi Kiss & Night of Navy– not one I would have come up with myself.  To make the flower ‘pop’, I sponged some Kiwi Kiss ink around the daisy heads.

On June 1st the discontinuing stamp sets from this year’s catalog will be published, be sure to check back at that time.  It is pretty much a given that 90% of the designer series papers will also discontinue, so if you like the Urban Garden (#112042) designer paper, now might be the time to order it!

Clearly I have a thing for this set ‘A Rose is a Rose’ (#111560, set of 14 stamps – $37.95).

UPDATED:  Since it was not a class, I don’t have a detailed handout, however in response to many requests, this was made with a 12 x 12 piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock, scored at 3 inch intervals.  I free cut the tops of each panel to appear to be bookmark.  I used a 12″ strip of the Candy Lane DSP inside and tacked it down, leaving space to use it as pockets.  I cut the inside bookmarks from scraps of vanilla and decorated the entire thing with stamped/cut images of the Rose is a Rose set.

This bookmark card was my ‘backup’ Mother’s Day card that I didn’t need to use.  At my April Stamp a Stack, my friends made a wider ‘2-fold’ accordion fold bookmark card for the sake of saving time.

But nothing beats the four fold!  Accessories:  Riding Hood Red & Vanilla cardstock, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss & Baja Breeze inks, Candy Lane Designer Series Paper and some grosgrain and tafetta ribbon.

I didn’t realize until after I photographed how much more striking this would be with ribbons at the top of each bookmark section… oh well… next time!
