Accordion Book – Stamp Festival Teaser

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

This book.jpgis a teaser for one of our Stamp Festival projects!  You have to be there to make it.

The idea comes the inspiration by Amanda Coughlin my very talented friend from the very lovely Tampa, Florida.  If you are near Tampa, you’ve got to look Amanda up and tell her that I sent you.  They LINE UP for her classes–she has to beat them away!

She had this idea to make an accordion book with the “long notes” cards that we sell in the new Spring Mini Catalog.  She was going on and on very excited (you know… blah, blah blah,  blah blah… ) but it didn’t HIT me what she was talking about (I am a very visual person so I couldn’t figure out what she was talking about at first).  I other things I had bookopen.jpgto do (including laundry but that doesn’t really count) and couldn’t concentrate, so I tried to do what she was saying and then it did hit me!  The girl’s a genious.

Well, I guess you can figure out construction from the photo showing how the card was scored and fits into the fold over envelope.  I put a bunch of photos together to show some detail–but not all!).  My customers can construct one at my Stamp Festival in May!

You can view Amanda’s which is a gift accordion album to her mother (very sweet) here.

Love that “Doodle This”

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

I love the “Doodle This” set!  Of course ‘Office Accoutrements’ is used all over as well.

This is a fancy cover for a (very) small white sandwich bag.  It is actually only 3 3/4 inches across, 2 inches deep and 6 inches high.  It gets a lot of mileage out of a LOT of accessories!

The “handle” is the ‘key tag’ punch and I rounded the corners and went completely punch happy with the new ‘spiral tab’ and ’round’ tab punches.  Very little coloring was necessary, I used sponges and markers.

I plan to make another one with mostly the Petals & Paisley papers but the hubby wants me to work on my taxes!

Covered “On Board” 5×5 Art Journal

 5x5 Art Journal

I covered this album in minutes using the Petals and Paisleys paper over the On Board 5×5 art journal. I just LOVE the new mini catalog–and everything in it! Now I have to book workshops to afford my wish list!

The cover was easy with the new spiral punch and I was able to add cardstock pages with pockets as well using that punch to make it fit like they belonged!

The round tab punch was used for the page tabs, but after I photo’d this, I punched some designer series paper to make that tab more colorful.  I covered On Board Accents, both the heart and the negative left over.  I used the stick glue to glue it up.  I touched it up with the matching stickers from the Accents & Elements “Little Reminders” as well as the stamps from the Office Accoutrements set!

Just Delightful Folio

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

Just Delightful Photo Folio This terrific “photo folio” idea was shared at Leadership this year.  I did cheap out and cut my own (not purchase the pre-made kit).  The sets used were Delight in Life (SAB) and “Be Happy”.

This is another teaser for my Stamp Festival this Saturday, but fear not, step by step (with photos) will be shared on my Project Gallery after this weekend (after I recover!).

As you can figure out this is cut from a 12 x 12 sheet, 4 1/2 inches wide and scored to fit our Mini envelopes (which come with blank cards). I used the cards to stamp the flowers and other embellishments to cut out so they didn’t go to waste!  The “belly ring” is over embellished (as is my style).

I love the black with the subtles (Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery & Pretty in Pink), it is a very eye pleasing combination to me.  Imagine what that would look like with photos and journaling?!
