Chocolate Easter Bunny

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Ah, those three beautiful words every woman wants to hear… ‘chocolate Easter bunny’!

The fabulous ‘single’ stamp ‘Chocolate Bunny’ (#116980, $7.95) is available for a limited time while the Occasions Mini Catalog is available… don’t miss it!

I made a simple ‘treat sleeve’ with a 2 1/2 x 10 inch piece of Mellow Moss cardstock and folded it back up on itself to form a pocket.

The best part is the ‘chocolate’ on the bunny! I stamped the bunny in Chocolate Chip (how appropriate!) Crafter’s Ink (#101816) and heat set with Crystal Clear embossing powder (#109130, $4.75) on Creamy Caramel cardstock.

The floral stamp in Blush Blossom on Blush Blossom paper is from ‘Razzle Dazzle’ (#116714, $18.95) set.  The pocket is held together with Moss brads from the Soft Subtles brads assortment.

One important thing to remember about the ‘handle’, punch out the jumbo circle and THEN punch out the flower… it is close to impossible the other way around, LOL!

Abundant Hope 3D Easter Card

Abundant Hope Easter Card

This card gets me thinking about how beautiful my daffodils are going to be when they finally bloom–they are growing bigger with every sunny day!

And I am going to miss this set when it expires on April 18th.  ‘Abundant Hope’ is a limited edition set in our Occasions Mini Catalog which retires on April 30th.

It took me two days to make this card and finally ‘like’ the layout.  I knew I wanted the black & yellow combination… and ended up with this very simple card.  So simple that I decided the ‘pop up’ two of the daffodils or it wouldn’t satisfy me.  You can’t see the glitter… it does improve it.

Accessories include:
Basic Black & So Saffron cardstock
Black StazOn
Earth Elements Watercolor Crayons
Aquapainters
#107590 Designer Label Punch
#116630 Modern Label Punch
#118402 Scallop Trim Border
(SAB FREE with $50 order)
Dazzling Diamonds Glitter & 2 Way glue pen

5th Avenue Floral Easter Card

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

This beautiful 3D Easter Card is made with Stampin’ Up!’s ’5th Avenue Floral’ stamp set and the (leftover from the Stamp Festival projects) designer series paper ‘Cottage Wall.’

The flower heads were cut out and petals bent with a bone folder and then attached with Dimensionals®.  I love the colors Celery and Plum together anyway.

UPDATE: I bought a new Nikon D3000 SLR camera and I took a new photo… way bolder color! The thumbnail photo lower is with the old camera and you can see how washed out the color is.

It doesn’t help that I also have a terrible case of ‘photography envy’ from looking at the superior photography of Jon Haverstick and his photography of his wife’s Stampin’ Up! creations.  Oh well, I must embrace my mediocrity for now (but you can run out and buy, buy, buy more Stampin’ Up! products from me so that I can afford some better equipment…).

Bunny Basket

I couldn’t help myself… I love this bunny!  Below is a step-by-step PDF on how the box/basket was made (not a revolutionary idea, but certainly an easy one) using the Scalloped Envelope Sizzix die.

I am back from Hawaii and real life (which doesn’t seem to measure up to luxury resort living!).

Today is the very last day of Sale-A-Bration (featuring a free gift for each $50 purchase) as well as my monthly online purchase gift of the ‘Good Egg’ Spring & Easter projects PDF (read about it here).

It is also the last day to join Stampin’ Up! for only $169.  The kit is an amazing special price this month and the least expensive way to start your own home based creative business.  Contact me if this intrigues you… or join online (in about 15 minutes) HERE.

A Good Egg - Easter Basket

I am dusting off this idea that I posted last year because everything electronic is in collusion against me and I have been forced to buy a new camera AND a new scanner and have to now figure them out!

So enjoy a reprint of this downloadable template (click on thumbnail left to download the directions and template).

This was one of the Stamp Festival projects last Spring… a 3D egg basket ‘gold on gold’.  Stampin’ Up!’s awesome “Brushed Gold” paper embossed with the flourish from ‘Baroque Motifs’ (egg from “A Good Egg” set). See more samples of “A Good Egg” on my website.

Set Sampler: A Good Egg

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

I made most of these for Leadership 2008 when I was asked to be a display artist. You can click on one of the thumbnails for an upclose detail shot of it and scroll through them. Dig photo #2… my ‘New York high hair’ years…

UPDATE: The original post and template for the egg basket is HERE. You can also use my Archive page to find these as past posts.

Getting ‘out of the box’ — my stamp room is under major construction! The walls are coming down for full access to 1000 square feet of finished basement… I’m so excited!

So, as an apology, I am going to recycle last year’s ideas for you… but I have wonderful new projects and templates to share soon. Why not now you ask? Well, just to keep it fun, not only is my basement under construction, but I have a huge Stamp Festival on Saturday to prepare for during construction.

Ah, never a dull moment!
