Word Play Graduation Card

Graduation Card

GraduationSideviewThe ‘Word Play‘ set is truly one of the most amazingly versatile sets in the catalog. The discontinuing list is coming and I can only hope this is not on it! Stampin’ Up! seemed to be giving away the silver glimmer paper with each order for awhile (to celebrate their 25th anniversary this year) and I am LOVING IT!

This card was so simply made and one of the Stampapalooza cards we will be making this Friday evening!

All Dressed Up Wedding Card

All Dressed Up Wedding Card

I’ve gotten a bunch of questions about how I did this, so here are some step-by-step photos:

AllDressedUpWeddingSideView

It has been a long time since I’ve gone to a wedding shower… and somehow I’ve gone from one of the excited young women in the wedding party (or friend of the bride) to one of the old lady invites–friend of the parents! The young bride is just a sweet and beautiful girl and it seems like yesterday that she was in high school. I wanted to make a special card for her and it has been a very long time since I’ve sat down and actually made a card for an occasion. It was a very nice feeling when she announced–’Oh this has to be from Amy’ when she pulled the card out of the gift bag [warm fuzzy feeling--card was appreciated]!

So, I finally got to use my ‘All Dressed Up’ framelits dies!  You can see below the one that is the ‘form’ (neck/shoulders/body with ‘stand’–cut out of Naturals Ivory paper) and the other for the actual dress (in white and embossed) and that I added two of the lace doilies for the skirt that are a special order item in the Occasions Catalog. And of course lots and lots of Pearls!!! In fact the necklace was made with the pearl strips that are all attached. I cut a strip of 5 pearls and easily peeled and pressed them on!

The Sizzix textured embossing folders used were the ‘Vintage Wallpaper‘ and ‘Perfect Polka Dots‘ as well as the Apothecary Accents framelits (for the opening).

FREE Shipping–and Goodbye to Crayons!!!

Friday, April 5th, 2013

FreeShipping

Okay–GOOD NEWS FIRST! Saturday, April 6th through Monday, April 8th, there is FREE Shipping!  And order through my online store and earn my online order gift!

Now, the bad news!!! Below is a quote from the Stampin’ Up! website.  I LOVELOVELOVE the watercolor crayons. I am proposing a moment of silence.

Quote from Stampin’ Up!:

“Due to unforeseen problems with our supplier for Watercolor Wonder Crayons and Watercolor Pencils, we have decided to discontinue these two products.

Watercolor Pencils (item 101879) and Watercolor Wonder Crayons Brights Collection (item 119804) will no longer be available, effective immediately.

Now for the good news! We still have the remaining collections of the Watercolor Wonder Crayons available to order. The Subtles (item 119802), Neutrals (item 119805), and Regals (item 119803) Collections are only available while supplies last. Get ‘em before they’re gone!”

So, stock up on the crayons–I know SU will replace them, and I hope in time for the new catalog. I don’t know that I can live without them.

Stampin’ Up! Color Refresh!

Friday, April 5th, 2013

Well it doesn’t happen often, but every few years, Stampin’ Up! updates their color line by adding and removing colors. Usually, they only add current and former In-Colors, however this time, they are adding a new light gray (remember Going Gray?)… I loved that color for shading (especially the marker).

Watch the video for the absolute BEST explanation of the new makeup of the 40 Stampin’ Up! colors:

Remember, this catalog ends on May 31st, however the current colors are only available while they last!

25 Year ‘Best Of’ Sets available for a limited time!

Thursday, March 14th, 2013

HydrangeaThis hydrangea stamp was part of a retired hostess set that is now available again (smaller than the original) as part of Stampin’ Up!’s 25-year anniversary celebration.

That’s right they’re bringing back some of our favorite stamp images from the last quarter century and combining them into 12 sets, which will release-one set per month-during 2013. Even better, along with some great classic images, each “Best of” set will also include a never-before-seen image! Each month, there is a different theme and this month it is ‘flowers’ (see flyer for all images).

And by the way all you Copic enthusiasts–I did all of the coloring with Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Write markers, so there! See my original article here.

Check back here every month to download a flyer for a new Best of stamp set!

Some things to remember:

  • All ‘Best Of’ stamp sets will include 3-5 images, including a never-before seen image, and will be priced at $14.95.
  • While they are releasing just one ‘Best Of’ stamp set per month (with a new theme each month), all of the Best of sets will be available until March 31, 2014.

Click the links below to download the sets currently available (I will be updating this article each month):

  • January’s ‘Best Of’ – Birthdays (order the set HERE).
  • February’s ‘Best Of’ – Love
  • March’s ‘Best Of’ – Flowers

NOTE: Sets are only available in clear mount

While they are releasing just one ‘Best Of’ stamp set per month, all of the ‘Best Of’ sets will be available until March 31, 2014. As a special incentive to collect the Best of stamps, they’re including a collector’s card and 25-year proof of purchase sticker with every ‘Best Of’ set. Collect six stickers, and send it in to redeem a FREE set of your choice valued up to $14.95!

Free sets must be redeemed no later than April 30, 2014.

Photopolymer Stamps! (pigs are flying…)

Monday, March 4th, 2013

Photopolymer Stamps

Well, something that I didn’t ever think would happen! Stampin’ Up! has come out with a (likely one of many to come) photopoymer stamp set! This is a completely clear stamp mount… that you can see through the clear block. CLICK HERE to view a flyer with up-close details of the set.

Some benefits include:

  • Top-quality photopolymer that gives a perfectly stamped image every time.
  • They’re entirely transparent for perfect placement!
  • Can you say sticky? (Don’t worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They’re age tested. They won’t yellow or cloud up over time.

Below is a ‘tongue in cheek’ quick video that at the very end shows the set quickly in use.

So, what do you think?
